Cram-o-matic RNG (CFW)

A guide for manipulating the Cram-o-matic to obtain rare Poké Balls and other goodies.

The Cram-o-matic is located inside the Dojo on the Isle of Armor, and can be unlocked through story progression. Once you have unlocked access to the machine, you can "feed" it items from your bag to generate items, such as the rare Apricorn, Safari & Sport Balls or Ribbon & Star sweets for Alcremie. Rare items will be the main focus of this guide as most other items can be obtained through different, more accessible means.

Important - From here, we assume that you are familiar with key concepts described on the main page. If you are unsure about seed monitoring, advancement methods, or NPC calibration, please review the relevant sections before continuing.

Getting Started (Game Setup)
  1. Collect all the resources you need for this RNG, refer to the above table for the correct recipes for rare Poké Balls and Alcremie Sweets.
  2. Stand inside the Dojo in the Isle of Armor, and navigate to the Cram-o-matic machine. Save the game after doing so.
  3. Calibrate your NPC count, take note of this value for later as menu close prediction will be used to confidently approach targets.

When calibrating NPC count inside buildings, set the current weather condition to Normal Weather. NPC count will remain the same between attempts unless you have progressed the main story quest, it is expected to see 21-22 NPCs with completed story (depending on if you have collected the Porygon gift).

Getting Started (Tool Setup)
  1. Enter the IP address of your console in the main window and click Connect. This will automatically read your current seed and save file details.
  2. At the top of the main owoow window, select Cram-o-matic to open the Cram-o-matic generator in a sub-window.
  3. Enter the amount of advances you are willing to search through into the + field, usually you will find any desired result in less than 200,000 advances.
  4. Select your Target from the drop-down menu, and click the Bonus Only? checkbox if you are aiming results that produce multiple rare Poké Balls.
  5. Select your item combination, refer to the table above for recipes that produce rare items. Follow the item order correctly to avoid producing unexpected results.
  6. Activate the Consider Menu Close? checkbox, then enter the NPC count that was calibrated earlier. You can now begin searching for targets.

If you do not find a desirable result you will need to increase your search range, reset the game and follow the above steps again, or apply less strict search filters.

Advancing to the Target

In this example, a Safari Ball bonus will be produced in a cluster between advances 40,329-40,331, these are the advances that we will aim to close the pause menu on, then quickly interact with the Cram-o-matic.

It is only important to interact with the Cram-o-matic on the advance that produces the expected result, as the reward will be locked in place until the player either backs out of the dialogue or feeds items to the machine.

Step-by-Step
  1. Advance toward your target using any of the methods listed on this page.

    • Consider using wet weather or date skipping to advance large distances (for targets > 50,000 advances, it is unlikely you will need to use these methods).
    • Consider using NPC activation or menu close prediction to advance shorter distances (for targets < 50,000 advances, most targets will be within this range).

  2. Stop advancing once you are ~1000 advances before your target, then reposition yourself outside the Cram-o-matic machine if you have moved.
  3. Ensure that the Consider Menu Close? checkbox is checked in the Cram-o-matic sub-window, and confirm that your NPC count is calibrated correctly.
  4. Click Update Seeds on the main window of owoow, then re-open the Cram-o-matic sub-window and search for your target again.
  5. From this point, use animations to reach the exact target frame, then return to the main pause menu.
  6. Unpause the game. If Holding Direction? is checked, hold a direction on the control stick when unpausing; otherwise, do not touch the control stick when unpausing.
  7. Quickly interact with the Cram-o-matic machine to lock your item result in place, then feed the correct combination of items to the machine to produce the expected target.

Figure 4 - Target Frame Hit!

In Figure 4 we closed the pause menu on the desired target frame and quickly interacted with the Cram-o-matic, now we need to feed it the correct combination of items, which should produce the expected reward.
